Badam Halwa
Ingredients:
1 cup blanched almond flour (not almond meal)
3/4 cup milk
1/2 cup sugar (use 1/4 cup for less sweetness)
1/4 cup ghee (clarified butter)
1/4 tsp cardamom powder
a few strands of saffron, optional
chopped nuts for garnish, optional
Instructions:
- In a large microwave-safe glass bowl, add 1 cup almond flour, 1/4 cup ghee, and 3/4 cup milk. Mix well.
- Microwave on high for 2 minutes.
- Stir well, then microwave again for 1 minute.
- Add 1/4 cup sugar, cardamom powder, and saffron strands. Stir everything.
- Microwave in 30-second bursts, stirring each time until the mixture thickens, turns glossy, and starts leaving the sides of the bowl (around 2 minutes).
- Let it rest for 1 minute. Serve warm, topped with chopped nuts.
